The auto industry is constantly growing up showcasing the best of their best to lure as much people as they can. Mahindra introduced its MPV design, Marazzo in the Indian market to get in the run between the Maruti Ertiga and Toyota Innova Crysta by taking the price and features into consideration. But then, this competitive spirit triggered Maruti to come up with another new version of Ertiga so that it could give a top-notch competition to the Mahindra’s new launch. To strengthen its growth and ground in the market, Maruti has come up with a more premium look both from inside and out with a new petrol engine and more interesting features. Here is a comparison between these two to give you a better perspective on what to go for according to your needs and necessities.
The 2019 Maruti Suzuki Ertiga has a comparatively larger dimension than its previous versions. The longer, wider and taller size of Ertiga give it a huge advantage on turning itself into a spacious MPV. Even after its increase in dimension, it managed to drop its weight due to being built in the lightweight Heartect platform.
Even after its larger size, Ertiga couldn’t compete with the size Mahindra Marazzo came up with. The dimension of Marazzo is comparatively longer, wider and taller with a wheelbase of 2760 mm longer than the Ertiga. That gives the interior quite a large amount of space which is obviously what most of the Indian car lovers look for in a family sized car.
Look wise, both the models have done quite well. But if you are looking for rather a sporty look, Marazzo best fits the place by giving its front a better aerodynamic inclination with a shark toothed grille along with a bumpy profile to its sides and comparatively small window span. In the other hand, Maruti Ertiga tried its best to give it a glossy handsome look with a shouty accent.
As both the models have given importance to a spacious comfy interior, you can notice that space that is well taken care of for a 7 Seaters MPV. However, there is a bit difference in the size of their boot space. Marazzo is having a 190 L of boot space with all the three rows up whereas the Ertiga is having a 209 L boot space. But the space increases if you fold the third and second rows down.

Talking about their performance, Marazzo is equipped with a 1.5-litre diesel engine that generates a power of 123 bhp and a torque of 300 Nm with a 6-speed manual transmission whereas the Maruti Ertiga comes with both diesel and petrol variant. It has a 1.5 L K15B petrol engine that produces 105 bhp power and 138 Nm of torque and a 1.3 L diesel engine producing a power of 90 bhp and a torque of 200 Nm. The petrol variant comes with a 5-speed MT and a 4-speed AT whereas the diesel version comes only with a 5-speed MT.
